My first SOHO comet

23日晚10时,我在C3中独立发现的暗淡克鲁兹族彗星在一小时后被确认。如果不出意外,它将成为我的第一颗拥有发现权的SOHO彗星。

14h UTC, Sept.23, I discovered a faint Kreutz comet in LASCO C3, and it was confirmed after one hour. If no accident, it will be my first SOHO-comet.

Lucky enough to find an object so soon... in the centre of the blink images, a bright one. Now I'm going to check if it's a known one.

Discoverers will own his/her discovery

Recently, the officers from IAU said, the discoverers can own the object he or she had discovered. Of course, this will interested more people to find new objects.
Kent Booth of IAU said, if the survey of which has made discovery agree, those who cannot named the object but discover it, can own the object, as well. It's a good news for those who work day and night among the survey pics from SPACEWATCH, NEAT, etc.
There're many asteroids in our solar system, and most of them are very small. Some scientists think those which had been discovered even could not reach the 1/1,000 of the total.

根据一条官方转述的消息,国际天文联合会的有关人员说,根据最近的规定,发现者将对自己所发现的天体享有拥有权。这无疑将激励更多的人去发现新天体。
官员肯特·布斯说,如果发现单位同意,只享有发现权的发现者也可以拥有这一块新土地。这对在通过SPACEWATCH、NEAT等巡天计划搜寻小行星的天文爱好者是一个莫大的福音。
太阳系中有不计其数的小石块,大部分直径都在100公里以下,据保守的估计,我们所发现的小行星可能还不到实际总数的1/1000。
相关机构预测,等到了宇航时代,占有和开发自己的小行星将是人类社会事务中一个非常重要的内容。

My FMO turn out to be a known one

The FMO project annouces my yesterday FMO is 2005 QP11, which had been discovered by A.Gomez from Spain, the day before yesterday.

30日下午2时,站主在参与美国基特峰天文台的近地飞掠目标(FMO)搜索计划时,在照片中发现了一颗近地飞掠小行星。
根据有关部门的回复,这是一颗已知的小行星,但仍不清楚是否能获得发现权。目前,这个天体已经被给予临时编号K05Q11P。
在发现这个天体之前,站主已经查阅了1700多张该搜索计划拍摄的照片。

At 2 pm, August 30 (local time), when I was viewing the photos taken by FMO project (Kitt Peak Observatory, US), I spotted an FMO and report it at once.
According to the reply by the project, it's already discovered, but whether I could have discover sign is still a question. Now the object has been given a temp sign K05Q11P.
Before this discovery, I've review over 1,700 FMO-project photos.

Higory Observatory, located in southern Africa, annouced their discovery of a new star on August 17.
"The new star is strange, " said the director of the "Searcher" project, Dr.Fogallina Varne, "it has some unknown lines in its spectrum. Personally, I thought it's a large star surrounded by big comets and gaseity planets, but we could not said anything more about it unless we got more information."
The new star is in Gemini, about 3,950 light-year away from our Earth. It was discovered on July, and the scientists in Higory keep track of it and get the spectrum of it. Now, they're going to call more observatory to research this interesting object.
