Hi Yeiht, i can't believe how young you are! I am receiving news from Lulin from a pair of weeks ago, expecting to see it, reading about it in many places... and i hadn't imagined the discoverer, i didn't ever ask about him, but if i had, i would have thought of it like an older man or more likely an asociation of astronomy. Well, i want to congratulate you, i envy you! I'm from Argentine, Buenos Aires, and study Biology. Good luck, greetings from the other side of the world!

Hey Yeiht! Your comet is as truly unique as you are. I just had to write to let you know how inspirational I think your life is. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication which has led to such a wonderful discovery for all of us fellow humans. Your family and friends must be very proud. I will look forward to reading your blog, thanks for sharing. p.s. I read about your comet on Yahoo News, which led me to the NASA website & that's where your blog was linked from. p.p.s. Your English is marvelous, by the way!

Hi Quanzhi,
I happened to stubble on your story while searching thru the NASA website, very interesting.I was wondering if you can give me some ideas on the best time to view Lulin? I don't have access to a telescope. What power binoculars should I use? I live In Lake Charles, LA. USA. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, John.

Hi John,
My apologize for this late reply, I was out for a 3-week travel recently, so I'm unable to access my blog very often. According to the most recent reports, the comet is now visible to rural-based naked-eye observers, so you may see the comet with naked-eye if your sky is dark enough. Even at urban areas, a small binocular like a 7x50 one should make the comet turn up with ease. Hope this help! Good luck!

Congratulations on your phenomenal discovrey. About 6.5 years ago I was riding a bicycle at about 7:30 pm cst in Illinois, U.S.A. Suddenly the chain on the bike broke. While fixing the problem, in all of about 3 minutes, I looked into the Northern sky, in about an eleven o' clock position I noticed a green sphere shaped ball of light. The mass appeared to be stationary, but one I focused on it it moved rapidly away from the Earth and out of view. I was fascinated by the story of a green comet with an abnormal rotation around the sun. While I am not convinced that what I saw was a comet, because of the appearance of stillness and then rapid acceleration, I am very intrigued by your work. Good luck with all your research. keep me informed

Hi Nic,
Thanks very much for your appreciation and your story, I suspect the object you saw to be a meteor trail, because the appearance you describe fits quite nicely. However, a comet should appeared to be stationary in short time (for Lulin, a few hours), I hope you have a good time when observing the comet!
Best regards,

约4年前 about 4 years ago
